09/09/05:

 The match-up between 3A No. 1 Lakeside Blue Ridge and 2A No. 1 Valley Christian lasted just two quarters Friday at Lakeside. Mother Nature hampered the game from the start, with two lightning delays holding up play and then heavy rain making the field unplayable. Blue Ridge determined the field to be unsafe, so the game was called. It does not count on either team's record.

When the game was called, Blue Ridge (2-0) held a 23-14 lead, thanks in great part to four Valley Christian (1-0) turnovers. However, the Trojans had outgained the Yellow Jackets 168-78 in the first half.

9/20/05:
The Arizona Interscholastic Association has ruled that the Sept. 9 football game between Chandler Valley Christian and host Lakeside Blue Ridge is a victory for Blue Ridge.

Both teams had agreed to a no-contest after the game was stopped at halftime due to bad weather. Blue Ridge led 23-14, and AIA Executive Director Harold Slemmer made the decision to give that team the victory based on written reports from game officials.

Slemmer left the door open slightly for his ruling to be reversed if a rule interpretation is made by the National Federation of High Schools.
